Avatar 2 Custom Name Quilt Blanket

Everyone loves Avatar and with the sequel coming out soon, now is the perfect time to make a copy of everyone’s favorite quilt. You can make your very own Avatar 2 Custom Name Quilt Blanket, complete with your very own character’s name! This quilt will be a treasured keepsake and will remind you of all the great times you had watching Avatar.To make this quilt, you’ll need:-A Ruler or measuring tape-Tapestry needle and thread in matching color-Fabric for the quilt top ( Enough for one full rectangle) -Fabric for the border ( Enough for two 4 inch squares) -Pin Badges Beads or other decorations as desired START by cutting your fabric into two rectangles that will be slightly larger than your quilt top. The measurements of each rectangle should be 18 inches wide by 24 inches long. Next measure from one corner of one rectangle to another corner of the other rectangle and create a 1 inch seam allowance. Be sure to back stitch at both ends of this seam. Do not cut through this seam yet! Method 1: Using your ruler and/or measuring tape, draw a diagonal line down the center of each rectangle. With right sides together, sew along both lines, creating an “X” shape inside each rectangle. Turn right side out and press gently.

This quilt was created by artist Jenny Metzler as a tribute to her love for the Avatar series and all of its amazing characters.Jenny started out by designing a colorful patchwork quilt using squares made from different fabrics that portray key elements from the series, including Aang’s Air Nomad background, Sokka’s warrior roots, Appa’s regal fur, and Zuko’s firebending abilities. Then she arranged these patches into an elegant and colourful quilt design inspired by character names and quotes from the show. The result is a truly special tribute to the fans of Avatar: The Last Airbendernone more so than for those who are named after one of the characters on the show!I hope you enjoy this fun and creative project as much as I do.
