The Cincinnati Bengals will begin their quest for a second consecutive AFC Championship on Sept. 11 when the team takes on division rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, the quest to get back into the Super Bowl will not be easy. Joe Burrow is recovering from a ruptured appendix and defenses will be sure to cover Ja’Marr Chase more heavily.
The road back to the Super Bowl starts at the newly christened Paycor Stadium.

The 2021 NFL season was a beautiful one for the Cincinnati Bengals, as they showed that their rebuild is way ahead of schedule, winning the AFC and almost taking down the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl in Joe Burrow’s second NFL season.
With one of the best receiving corps in all of football, the Bengals’ offense figures to only improve as Burrow does, especially with an improved offensive line in the 2022 season.
Cincy benefitted from a banged up Baltimore Ravens team in 2021, but it’s hard to count out Burrow and company given how well they played with such a young team last season. Does Burrow go from playoff beast to MVP candidate (he’s +1200 at WynnBET to win the league’s MVP this season)?
Here’s a full breakdown of the Bengals’ futures as well as their offseason moves and 2022 schedule ahead of this season:
The Bengals have four primetime games this season, which means we’re going to get plenty of looks at the Joe Burrow-Ja’Marr Chase duo when the lights are brightest.
Cincy opens the season with the new-look Pittsburgh Steelers, who have still yet to name their starting quarterback. They have a tough schedule in 2022, playing eight games against teams that made the postseason in 2021.
Two huge games will be Week 17 and 18 at home against the Buffalo Bills and Ravens. The Bengals could have a chance to make a run at the No. 1 seed in the AFC against those two teams if things go to plan in 2022.
The Bengals made the Super Bowl with arguably the league’s worst offensive line, and they went 10-7 in the regular season.
I think there is value in taking them to finish with more than 10 wins at even money, with the caveat that you can push if they land on 10 again. Collins, Karras and Cappa are all massive upgrades, and it should allow Burrow to flourish even more in his third season.
Not only that, but the Bengals return most of their defense from the 2022 season that really showed it can step up in the playoffs, especially in the second half of the AFC Championship Game against Kansas City.

Lean: OVER 10 Wins (+100)
Making it back to the Super Bowl is going to be a tough task with the Ravens improving in the division, but there is definitely value in taking Cincy to win the AFC North at +170.
The Ravens are currently the favorite, but the Bengals are a team that seems destined to be even better in 2022, as they were way ahead of schedule last season.
Burrow, Chase, Tee Higgins, Joe Mixon and Tyler Boyd are going to form one of the most-lethal offensive attacks in the league. Luckily for Cincy, it plays Cleveland once without Deshaun Watson, and it may get a chance to play the Jets without Zach Wilson in Week 3.
I think the Bengals are a double-digit win team, which means the division is certainly within reach.
